J. D. Tant vs A. N. Dugger (Seventh-Day Adventist)
March 22, 1922
Russellville, Alabama

(By J. H. Horton)

Feb. 15-21 at Russellville, Ala.

Bro. Tant did his work swell from the beginning. He was taken quite sick one night, and it was thought he would not be able to sit up when he was to defend the truth; but he was strong when he was weak. Mr. Dugger would resort to anything to make a point. When bro. Tant showed him Col. 1:12,13 that the Colossians were in the kingdom. Dugger said, "I will show you the opposite of this passage in II Pet. 1:11. "For thus shall be richly supplied unto you the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lords and Savior Jesus Christ." He thus tried to maker it appear that bro. Tant's position made a contradiction between the two passages. Dugger said bro. Tant was the strongest man in debate he ever met. The debate will surely do good. People were reading the Bible and talking about the debate before it was over.
