Preached under a tent at Highland Ave. church - bro. E. R. Harper is their preacher. While in Jackson I visited Union, the great Baptist University, and sat at the feet of I. N. Penick and heard him teach a class in the Bible. I have met Penick in 4 debates. He is a better Bible teacher and a Baptist preacher.
It seems that bro. Harper and Dorence Woody have gone to the top in education and have gone to the Baptist university to get their degrees. Also, I learned that their department had not been altogether satisfactory before the Baptists, because both Harper and Woody speak up and contend for the truth. I even heard they had Harper before the board for calling Penick a coward, but Harper held his hand along all lines and did not back down. These boys are causing the Baptists to take notice of the churches of Christ in west Tennessee.
