On Dec. 8 brethren T. B. Thompson and J. S. Dean met in Brookport, Ill. and held a four days debate.
Bro. Taylor affirmed that the scriptures teach that Christians should oppose the use of instrumental music in the worship of the church of Christ. The last two days bro. Dean affirmed that the scriptures authorize such institutions as the Missionary Society. The people manifested much interest in the debate. At only two sessions was the house sufficient to accommodate everyone. Each did well and good will result.
