W. H. Trice vs A. G. Canada (Pentecostal)
June 29, 1916
Memphis, Tennessee

(By J. A. Cullum)

Debate for 3 nights at Memphis, Tenn., May 22-24.

Pleasant sessions. W. H. Trice affirmed: signs in Mk. 16:17,18 have ceased. Canada affirmed: Mk. 16:17,18 still binding.

On 3rd night bro. Trice affirmed: baptism in water to penitent believers is for the remission of sins. Mr. Canada had never denied (debated) this proposition before. As a speech he arranged 20 scriptures referring to faith; but bro. Trice so hedged his proposition in with his first speech that Canada only referred to only a few of his "pet" texts and it seemed they were in his way.

Mr. Canada is a nice man in debate and fairly good speaker, but knows nothing of logic. Bro. Trice did his work well. All were pleased. Preachers there were: Denton, Wilson, R. H. Bunner, Lowery from Miss.
