Foy E. Wallace, Jr. vs H. W. Wallace (Instrumental Music)
July 30, 1925
Ada, Oklahoma

(By W. Claude Hall)

At Ada, Okla. - four nights debate on this: Instrumental music, as an aid to singing in Christian worship, is scriptural. Began on June 30, and was held in New Convention hall, which will seat over 1500. W. Claude Hall acted as time keeper for bro. Wallace. It was the first debate I have ever attended in which the speakers deported themselves in such a Christian like manner that neither had to be called down.

The "psallo" argument used much. The "walking cane" argument was used once. Foy Wallace made it look so puerile that it was dropped. H. W. Wallace tried to show Psa. 87 was a prophetic vision of the church; he also had musical instruments in heaven. Foy debates for the convenience of the audience and never quibbles.
