Welcome to the
Quitman church of Christ

Purpose

We desire to be a New Testament Church.  We believe the New Testament Church can be restored in the first century pattern with the New Testament as our guide.

We desire to pronounce the Bible in its entirety.  We believe the Old Testament as it is written and believe it teaches us today.  We intend to fully follow the New Testament as it tells and directs us to live.

We believe in the creation of the Bible.

We believe Christ died for and is the head of His church.

We value the life and soul of all, regardless of race or nationality.

We value the life and soul of the unborn child in the womb.

We value the sanctity of marriage.

We believe in the institution of marriage as it is described and written in the New Testament.  Our policy on wedding ceremonies is that our congregation's minister or those whom the elders appoint in the ministers place,  will be the officiator in any wedding ceremonies officiated by the local church.  In any case,  the minister will only officiate such couples that he has had the prior opportunity to counsel over the course of several sessions.  Any couples that he counsels and finds to be outside of the guidelines set forth by the New Testament, he does have the scriptural obligation not to officiate. Marriage ceremonies will only be considered for members of this congregation and/or any of their family.

We desire to be a "going" Church that takes seriously the command to go into all the world with the gospel of Christ.  We want to have a missionary spirit both in our local community and around the world.  We pray for God's blessings in helping us to fulfill the purpose for the church as laid out in the Scriptures.
