Morning Worship
Sunday, 10:30 AM

Every first day of the week (every Sunday) we assemble for worship, where the congregations follows the pattern from the New Testament in specific actions of worship to praise God. We are taught that worship is to be decent and orderly, and you will find a quiet and reverently atmosphere at North Hamilton during worship because we know that our worship is for God. The elders of this congregation have decided the order of the services, but here is what you can expect:
  • Congregational singing will be lead by one of the Christian men of the congregation. The New Testament only authorizes singing (Eph. 5:19), so we do not use mechanical or natural instruments (like hand-clapping) of music.
  • An opening prayer will be worded by one of the Christian men.
  • The local and visiting Christians will partake of the Lord's Supper. We do this every first day of the week, just as first-century Christians. This memorial consists of the unleavened bread and the fruit of the vine, and these serve as reminders of the death and sacrifice of the Lord at Calvary. This is a time of solemn reflection upon the great love of God for man in the giving of His son.
  • We will then have the opportunity to "lay by in store." The collection is based the prosperity granted by God, and we give cheerfully so that the work of the church can be funded.
  • A Gospel sermon will be presented by our Minister, David B. Smith. We believe that the power of salvation is in the Gospel, and that our charge is to preach the word without compromise. You will hear a message based on the Bible, and full of Scripture.
  • An invitation will be extended following the sermon. This is the time when people who have never obeyed the Gospel or even erring Christians my respond to God.
  • Customarily, the congregation will be lead in a closing song by the song leader.
  • We then will be dismissed after a closing prayer is offered by one of the Christian men.
In every service, we encourage people that have questions to ask. Please let us know what is on your mind and we will do our best to provide you with the Bible answer. We want only to be what you can read in the Bible, Christians following the doctrine of the apostles. We seek a "thus saith the Lord" for everything, whether word or deed.
