We have a group of 13 individuals who plan on going to Tanzania, Africa this March 2008. They will leave on March 1st and will not arrive home until the 14th. The group consists of: Grant Tosh, Brad Whinery, Rod Minor, Kenny Burrows, Janet Covalt, Carla Kyle, Debra Risley, and Pam Hagerman. There are five other individuals who attend the Sayre Church of Christ who will also be going to Tanzania. They are Matt Richardson, Danny Vernon, Nicole Richardson, Nancy Hartman, and Rick.
They will be staying in the town of Moshi, but plan on establishing a church in Marangu. Marangu is a city which consists of approximately 2.5 million people. A typical day for them will be door knocking, handing out tracts and Bible correspondence for a couple of hours each morning. They will provide a children's lesson around lunch and then our men will be preaching for two hours each night. (One hour preaching; the other hour will be questions and answers. At the end of their day they will return to Moshi.
These individuals are in need of our prayers. They will be facing some challenges while trying to do God's work in Tanzania. Please pray for their safety, health, spiritual strenthening, and their families who they are leaving behind. They will be vaccinated for several diseases such as Yellow Fever, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Typhoid, Rabies, and Polio.They will also take medicine to prevent Malaria.
This group plans on sending us pictures while they are away. We will have them on this website so that we may follow their progression over the two weeks.
