Our Purpose Statement
The Leesburg family is an acappella congregation that seeks to be a fellowship of people bound together by mutual faith in Jesus Christ and genuine love for one another. We believe the death, burial and resurrection of Christ constitute the core of the Good News all people need to hear. In order to help all Christians to share the love and message of Jesus Christ, we labor together for one common cause. We are committed to the goal of teaching the Bible and allowing its eternal principles to continually move us closer to the center of God's will for our lives.
OUR BELIEF STATEMENT
We believe that our church should love and be able to articulate the core values of our congregations. What are congregational core values? These are the non-negotiable areas of our church and congregational life together that define clearly who we are and how we choose to live as a church. These are the values that determine our priorities and infuse our decisions. A core value differs from a belief. A belief is that which we will debate or argue about. A core value, on the other hand, is a conviction. In a word, it is something that we will die for. It is non-negotiable! Our core values at the Leesburg church of Christ can be summed up as the following: 1. A Personal Relationship with Jesus 2. Speak where The Bible Speaks, and be Silent where it is Silent - The Authority of the Scriptures 3. Worshipping God in Spirit and in Truth 4. Carrying out the Great Commission 5. Engaged in Kingdom Business 6. Going on to Perfection 7. Love One Another - Community 8. In The World, but not of The World 9. Train the Child Lest He Forget 10. A Good and Faithful Steward 11. Pray Without Ceasing Our congregation is encouraged to think about how they can make these core values evident in their lives and pursue them on a daily basis.
We Believe
The Holy Bible is inspired of God and it is living, infallible and inerrant. Every word is pure and a shield to them that put their trust in him.
We Believe
There is One God, One Worship, and He is only to be worshipped.
We Believe
There is One Lord, One Authority and religious authority is derived from Him alone.
We Believe
There is One Faith, and that One Faith is the One Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We Believe
There is only one baptism today, one action, and that action is complete burial in water for the remission of past sins. An immersion, submersion and emergence.
We Believe
There is one body, the Church over which Christ is the absolute head. One might as well believe in more than One God as to believe in more than One Church.
We Believe
in one spirit, one mind or disposition to possess the members of the one body.
We Believe
the gospel is God's power to save and all who do not believe and obey the one gospel will not be saved.
We Believe
in the final judgement where upon all humanity will be judged according to their works.
We Believe
There is a heaven and a hell. Both are prepared places, heaven for the obedient and hell for the disobedient.
