Wal-Mart and Homosexuality

Recently (8/21/06), Wal-Mart signed an agreement with the "National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce."  According to this agreement, (1) Wal-Mart is now a corporate member of the NGLCC; (2) the president of Wal-Mart will serve as an advisor to the NGLCC; (3) Wal-Mart will sponsor some of the programs of the NGLCC; (4) Wal-Mart will give preference to suppliers and vendors that are owned by "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Transgendered (LGBT)" owners.

This is not intended to single out Wal-Mart, for it is just a part of the growing corporate trend of promoting homosexuality and the homosexual agenda.  Many large corporations have done this for years (IBM, Walgreens, Starbucks, Levi's, etc.).  However, Wal-Mart is the largest corporation to take on an active role in spreading this perverse and sinful activity.  The decisions made by the authorities in these corporations are not purely related to increasing profits or market-share, for homosexuals represent a very small portion of the population of the United States.  These choices are political and social decisions.  Some more liberal organizations like Starbucks desire to promote homosexuality.  Others corporations have simply caved in to political pressures.  Either way, the homosexual agenda is promoted to the detriment to the nation.

What can we do?  First of all, pray to God to stem the tide of the homosexual agenda in our nation.  Then, be aware of the growing influences of the homosexual agenda around you in corporations, media, schools, and even churches.  Be on guard against these influences lest you get swept away with them.  Also, consider showing your preference to corporations who do not support the homosexual agenda.  Admittedly, this can be difficult if you live in an area where there are not many alternatives.  At least, you can express your displeasure to the management of these corporations for their poor choices.

Regardless of what may happen in the next ten to fifty years regarding homosexuality in this nation, the truth about homosexuality will not change.  It is a sin and an abomination unto God (Lev. 18:22; Rom. 1:24-27; 1Cor. 6:9-10).  Those who promote the homosexual agenda will try to frame the issue as civil rights, comparing homosexuality to race or gender.  This is a false comparison, for homosexuality is a choice to sin made by individuals.  Do not accept the reasonings of those "who call evil good, and good evil" (Isa. 5:20).  Rather, continue to teach the truth on the subject of homosexuality and love those who are entangled in this sin.  Direct them to the Christ, who is able to save their souls.
