Families in Crisis

Parents and/or grandparents have an awesome responsibility in the rearing of their children/grandchildren, especially in today’s society.  OUR children today are constantly confronted with all sorts of evil that the Devil can muster.  Just a few of these include sexual abuse, physical and verbal abuse, premarital sex, alcohol, drugs of all kinds, gang violence, murder, stealing, etc.

I am reminded of what we find in Proverbs 22:6, which states:
”Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”  This does not state that our children are going to be perfect, nor does it say that they won’t try certain things, but it does say that if we as parents/grandparents rear our children the way God intended, then this training will one day hit home with them.  Also another verse comes to mind which is Ephesians 6:4, which states: “And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”   Children are a blessing from God, and we should rear them as a blessing.  We need to pray to God daily for the strength, patience, and love in rearing our children.
