The Six Days of Evolution

The Six Days of Evolution

Not everyone who calls himself a Christian is actually a Christian. There are some who reject the need for an individual to be baptized, even though the Bible reveals that it is essential (Mark 16:16; Acts 22:16; 1 Peter 3:21). Some teach that Jesus died just to save a few, though the Bible says He died to save all (John 3:16; 1 John 2:2 "And He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” The list goes on and on. Time and again, the Scriptures reveal that we need to be concerned about truth, and believe and practice that which is given in God's word (John 8:32; John 17:17). Can those who wilfully reject what is recorded in God's word rightfully be called Christians?
Among the names given as proof that I should set aside my insistence that God created the universe and all that is in it in six literal days are evolutionary supporters such as Catholic biologist, Kenneth R. Miller; Pope Benedict XVI and his predecessor, John Paul II; geneticist Francis Collins; and religious author, Tim Callahan, and the infamous Charles Darwin. Perhaps to some that might be an impressive list of names; I guess I just don't get impressed all that easily. If these are supporters of evolution, then they make themselves enemies of God, for they reject what God's word says about the age of the earth, the universe, and evolution. This being the case, the very thing, which Jesus said of the Jewish leadership who would not listen to Moses, is also true of these: (John 5:45-47) "Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?” "If these are supporters of evolution, then they make themselves enemies of God...”
Genesis reveals that God created the heaven and earth and all that is in them in six literal days. Each day is described as "...the evening and the morning..." (Genesis 1:5 "And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.” Also verses 8, 13, 19, 23, 31), which parallels the Jewish concept of a day
(sundown to sundown). The Hebrew word used by Moses for "day" is "yomn” that is used almost exclusively in the Scriptures as a literal 24-hour day.
Genesis reveals that God "formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being." (Genesis 2:7) Man did not evolve - he was created. Likewise, we are told that "...out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air..." (Genesis 2:19) They did not evolve from some other form of creature - they were created.
A Christian believes what God said in His word, the Bible. The beliefs of men such as those mentioned above do not agree with what God has revealed. How then can they be considered His people, if they do not believe His word?
If a fair maiden kisses a frog, which instantly changes into a handsome prince, we would call it a fairy tale. But, if the frog takes 40 million years to turn into a prince, we call it evolution. What foolishness!

Some want to meld evolution and the creation account together, turning the days of creation into several millennia. Why give lip-service to divine revelation, but glory to human philosophy? The six days of evolution as stated in God’s Word may not convince faithless believers, but the fact remains, they reject the God they claim to serve in favour of a primary atheistic theory.
