IS BEING IN CHRIST IMPORTANT? The spiritual condition of man is very important. "He that is not with is against me." Mt. 12:30. When one obeys Christ, He adds that person to His church/body. Acts 2 47; Eph. 1:22,23. When one obeys Christ, by being baptized into Christ, he enjoys all spiritual blessings. Rom. 6:3,4; Gal. 3:27. Eph. 1:3. Being in Christ is of utmost importance, for only those in Christ (body, church) will be saved at the day of judgment. Eph. 5:23; I Cor. 15:24. To receive an eternal inheritance in heaven, we must remain faithful to Christ until death. John wrote, "Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life." Rev. 2:10; I Pet. 1:4- 7. Some tell us that once a child of God, always a child of God or to put it another way, once saved, always saved. It is true that once a person is born again, into the family of God, he can never cease being a family member, but he can be disinherited. A child can be taken out of the will or as God calls it, "blot his name out of the book of life." Rev. 3:5. Being in Christ means a person became a new creature. II Cor. 5:17. He has been made alive spiritually. Eph. 2:1-10. He has access to God through prayer. I Pet. 3:12. There is no greater blessing to the Christian than to know we can speak to the creator of the universe anytime, anywhere and know He will hear and answer us. I Thess. 5:17; Phil. 4:6. Christ died for the whole world and wants all to be saved. Jo. 3:16; I Tim. 2:4; I Jo. 2:2. Won't you obey Christ by being baptized into Him today? Rom. 6:3,4; Gal. 3:27; I Cor. 12:13.
