Faith Overcomes Folly

FAITH OVERCOMES FOLLY

(Eccl. 8:1-17)

The God depicted in the Bible is not hard to serve. Our God wants to be asked, and He wants to be thanked. No shame is found in scripture for asking, petitioning and praying. The primary sin associated with prayer is that of not asking prayerfully. We must ask God for things we need. Jesus commanded, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7).

Beyond asking is the prayer of thanking. God wants to be acknowledged and appreciated for prayers answered and for good things received that were not asked of Him. Solomon commended the enjoyment of eating, drinking and merriment (Ecclesiastes 8:15). God is so gracious to us! Let’s not forget His many blessings.
