Frozen Windows

FROZEN WINDOWS

Wife texts husband on a cold winter morning: "Windows frozen, won't open."

Husband texts back: "Gently pour some lukewarm water over it and then gently tap edges with hammer."

Wife texts back 10 minutes later: "Computer really messed up now."

Misunderstandings are prevalent in our lives. We think we know what someone is talking about, but our understanding is incorrect.

We think we understand what is best for us rather than following God's directions and we run into all kinds of problems. We need to follow the instructions of Proverbs on trusting God.

Proverbs 3:5--10  Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil. 8 It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones. 9 Honor the LORD with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase; 10 So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.

Jeremiah and Psalms show us that we don't have the understanding to direct our own way.

Jeremiah 10:23  O LORD, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.

Psalm 17:5  Uphold my steps in Your paths, That my footsteps may not slip.

May we always check our understanding by looking to see what God's word tells us to do.

With love and understanding,

Larry
