JACKSON STREET CHURCH OF CHRIST

FOR SALE

Murphy was selling his house and put the matter in a real estate agent's hands. The agent wrote up a sales blurb for the house that made wonderful reading. After Murphy read it, he turned to the agent and asked, "Have I got all you say there?"

The agent said, "Certainly ... why do you ask?"

Murphy replied, "Cancel the sale ... it's too good to part with!"

I think sometimes we may be a little like Murphy about our own lives. We focus on the negative things that are happening in our lives and don't realize how blessed we really are. Others may be looking at us and wishing their lives were more like ours.

Especially as Christians we are so blessed.

We have a loving Father in heaven who we can go to with all our problems, and he will help us through them all. Romans 8:31--32  What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

We have our fellow Christians who love us and will help us in any way they can. Romans 12:9--13  Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.

We have a home reserved in heaven for us. 1 Corinthians 2:9  "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him."

May we always realize the tremendous blessings in our lives and focus on the good in our lives rather than the bad.

With love and concern,

Larry
