MINERAL SPRINGS CHURCH OF CHRIST

The Lord's Supper

Lord's Supper

Paul writes in I Corinthians 11:23, "...the Lord Jesus on the night in which He was betrayed took bread..."

Jesus knew what lay ahead for Him. And here we see Him taking time to set in place a memorial that would be so important that it is now, thousands of years later, done by Christians every week to remember His death "until He comes".

The writer of Hebrews tells us in chapter 9 that Christ came as High Priest of a greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands and that redemption of all people comes through His blood.

His death was necessary for the institution of the new covenant so "that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance". The chapter closes by saying that Christ has entered heaven itself in the presence of God for us.

Jesus was offered once to bear the sins of many. The first day of every week, we remember with this memorial.
