I.          THE FULFILMENT OF THE PROPHESIED CHURCH OF CHRIST:

  A.  The establishment of the church was fulfilled on the Pentecost day after Christ ascension -- Acts 2:1-47.

        1.  The Holy Spirit came on to the Apostles -- vs. 1-4.

        2.  Peter preached the gospel to the Israelites -- vs. 11-41

             i.            The gospel is the keys of kingdom -- Rom.1:16-17.

            ii.           From the O.T. Peter revealed the gospel -- vs. 22-36.

            iii.         About 3000 souls were baptized and added to the Apostles to form the church -- vs. 38-41.

   B.  Those baptized were the first Christians and were steadfast following the Apostles -- Acts 2:42-47.

       1.  The early Christians clung to the doctrine -- v. 42.

       2.  They were united -- v. 44

       3.  They helped one another -- vs. 45-46.

       4.  They praised God and had favor with the people -- v. 47.

       5.  The church contains the saved ones -- v.47.

 II.       JESUS IS THE FOUNDER AND HEAD OF THE CHURCH OF CHRIST:

  A.  Jesus founded the church through the Apostles -- Matt.16:18.

  B.  Jesus is the head of the church -- Eph.1:22-23; 5:23; Col.1:18,24.

      1.  He founded only one church.

      2.  He is the head of only one body.

      3.  The body is the church.

      4.  Therefore He is the head of only one church.
