PRO-CHOICE IN WHAT?

"Pro-choice" is a term that is in itself rather meaningless until it is attached to a subject. An individual who is in favor of a woman's "right" to have an abortion may not be in favor of that same woman's right to choose in exchanging sexual favors for money (as long as she doesn’t charge for it, it is all right.) All of us are for choice in one sense or another. However, whether we are for or against the action that is associated with that choice, a choice is still there.

All of us are for choice in one sense or another. However, whether we are for or against the action that is associated with that choice, a choice is still there. To help individuals make the right choice, society has established laws that set up consequences for an individual who does not make the right choice. For example, if you make the choice to drive at 80 miles per hour when the speed limit is 60 miles per hour, then you will pay a fine when caught by the police. The concept of the establishment of laws to assist people in making the right choice is recognized in the Bible. Jeremiah states in Jeremiah 10:23, "O Jehovah, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps."  Society has established laws and consequences in order for it to function. So it is that God has established laws and consequences in order for man to harmoniously exist with God for eternity. Jesus also states in Matthew 7:21-23, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22, Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy by thy name, and by thy name cast out demons, and by thy name do many mighty works? 23, And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." As we can see there are consequences in making the wrong choices. God has always been pro-choice for mankind. It is called free will. But with free will comes consequences and our choices should be made with knowledge and understanding of the consequences.

Are you making knowledgeable choices? James 1:25 states, "But he that looketh into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and so continueth, being not a hearer that forgetteth but a doer that worketh, this man shall be blessed in his doing."
