FORWARD - ISLAM IN PERSPECTIVE

To most Americans, Islam is simply one of the three major religions that worship the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. This myth has been encouraged in the past but deserves a closer look in today's world.

Is Allah of Islam the same as Jehovah (or Yahweh) of the Bible? In pre-Islam Arabia Allah is identified by most as the Creator God in a polytheistic world. Although denied by Muslims, Allah is also considered the Moon-God of ancient Ur, and the crescent moon symbol on their mosques lends credence to this view. The fact that Malaysia outlawed (later declared unconstitutional) the use of "Allah" in any but Muslim context in 2007, also demonstrates a distinction between Jehovah of the Bible and Allah, in Muslim minds. The internet states that Allah was a pagan moon god married to a sun goddess with the stars being their offspring.

More importantly, to Bible believing Christians, Muslims deny the deity (i.e., that he is the Son of God) of Christ (John 3:16). They also deny he was crucified (1 Corinthians 1:23), his resurrection (Acts 4:33), ascension (Acts 1:9-11), or that he will judge the world (Acts 17:31). In other words Muslims reject the New Testament as God's revelation to Man. In spite of the New Testament record, they still have the audacity to still consider Jesus a prophet of God.

In spite of the fact that the Muslim world has declared war on America as "the great Satan" well before 9-11, they have the audacity to claim Muslims are for the most part moderate and tolerant of Christianity - as well as other religions. Yet they insist on erecting a mosque near the site of the twin towers to commemorate their great victory over America on 9-11!

History bears witness to the true nature of Mohammadism. Mohammad himself began his career by robbing caravans and died in 633 AD the most powerful chief in Arabia. As the Muslim armies swept northward from Mecca and across north Africa, and into Spain, Christians were given a choice - the sword or the knife. The knife meant acceptance of Mohammad as their  prophet and Allah as their god. Mosques were erected where Christian houses of worship had stood. Those Christians (and Jews) left alive had the privilege of being second class citizens.

Slavery is still part and parcel of modern Mohammadism. Although evidently ignored by the black Muslim movement in America, it was the Muslim slave traders that captured and/or sold Negroes to the Western World. It was the influence of Christianity that fired the abolition movement in Western Civilization. We detect no efforts to abolish slavery in the Muslim World.

Polygamy also is an acceptable element of Islam. Although men are limited to four wives, women should note that the Koran (or Quran or Qur'an) does not give them a right to four husbands! Jesus points out, "from the beginning it was not so" (Matthew 19:3-9).

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

"But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;"

And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

"And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight." "And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;" "Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven."

"Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead."

"The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?" "And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female," "And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?" "Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." "They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?" "He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so." "And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery."
