Marriage is Still He and She

Can there ever be a Christian case for same-sex marriage? Only if you leave God's word out of the case being made. But if you do that, then it cannot be a Christian case for same-sex marriage. It becomes man's case for same-sex marriage.

What does God's word say about same-sex marriage? Nothing! It is never mentioned and there are two reasons for this. First, sexual relations between individuals of the same gender are condemned in Romans 1:26-27, 32; 1Corinthians 6:9-11, and 1Timothy 1:10. The second reason it is never mentioned or considered is that Jesus describes marriage as a union between man and woman, not man and man, not woman and woman, nor man and beast.

Let us note carefully what Jesus says in Matthew 19:4-6, "And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, ?For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." From the creation God made them male and female and for this cause shall a man leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife. The man is always spoken of in the masculine gender and the wife in the feminine gender. Whenever the expression "his wife" is found in the Bible, it always indicates a marriage between a man and a woman. Likewise, when the expression "her husband" is used, it is clear that a woman and a man are married. It is the gender that defines the marriage role. A woman can never be a husband nor a man be a wife. For man to create same-sex marriage he must redefine marriage and eliminate husband and wife. This results in man's definition of marriage to be different from God's and whatever you want to call it, it is not a marriage and cannot be one flesh which in turn God hath not joined together.

This leaves me asking this question to those supporting same-sex marriage: When God describes marriage, what exactly about His creating male and female from the beginning for this cause don't you understand?
