By Way of Introduction

Many people hesitate to visit a church unless they know what it will be like when they go. Perhaps we can help you know what to expect when you visit the Columbus church of Christ.

Our Worship is Simple and Devout

Our services are conducted in a quiet, worshipful atmosphere. They are designed to draw the worshipers closer to God and to provide enduring Spiritual Strength. Our worship consists only of those elements which the New Testament reveals as having been used as worship by the church in the days of the apostles. We sing and pray, partake of the Lord's supper, have the Word of God preached for our instruction, and give of our means for the spreading of the Gospel, and caring for the poor. In all of this we seek to maintain the attitude which Christ taught when He said: "God is a Spirit, and they that worship Him must worship in Spirit and Truth." (John 4:24)

Our Authority Is The Bible Alone

Our source of authority is that which is found only in the inspired Scripture. Therefore, we seek to be governed in all that we do by God's Holy Bible. Since the Scriptures are sufficient for our every need (II Timothy 3:16-17), our preaching and teaching contains only that which is commanded in the Bible.

OUR PEOPLE ARE CHRISTIANS ONLY

The division in the religious world today is far different from the unity enjoyed by the early Christians, before traditionalism and distinctive names divided them. Believing such division to be contrary to the Scriptures, we have no Denominational organization or name, doctrine or creed. Following the teachings of Christ and His apostles, individually we are known as Christians, collectively as a church of Christ.

YOU WILL NEVER BE EMBARRASSED

You visit us as a welcome and respected guest. At the end of the sermon those wishing to become Christians are invited to step to the front of the auditorium to let their wishes be known. But never is anyone singled out for public attention. People are urged from the pulpit to accept the gospel and to yield its call with deep spiritual conviction.

YOU WILL FIND A FRIENDLY SPIRIT

We believe that friendliness is a natural attitude among people who truly love God. Our visitors, who always receive a warm welcome, appreciate the courtesy and cordiality of these Christians. We truly hope you will accept our invitation to meet with us soon. You will be benefited by coming.
