Purpose

This congregation of the Lord's church, similar to the primitive Church, but unlike many congregations of contemporary Churches of Christ, wholeheartedly believes in the commandment of God as revealed by the Apostle Peter in I Peter 4:11, "If any man speak, let him speak AS (emphasis by ICOC) the oracles ("Word"-ICOC) OF GOD (emphasis by ICOC)..." As such, we DO NOT ADD to God's Word or TAKE AWAY FROM it in accordance with Holy Writ declared in Rev. 22:18-19,
~I Cor. 4:6~, Prov. 30:6, and other scriptures. By so doing, we cannot be found to be deceivers or preaching "any other gospel". See Gal. 1:6-9. This is one of many reasons why this congregation identifies itself as "Independent" among Churches of Christ. If you disagree with any of the beliefs herein stated, it is highly recommended you open your Bible and do as the Bereans did in Acts 17:11. They "...received THE WORD (of God-emphasis by ICOC) with all readiness of mind (the correct attitude containing faith-ICOC), and SEARCHED (empahsis by ICOC) the SCRIPTURES (Word of God-ICOC) daily, whether those things were so." The Bereans COMPARED what they heard religiously from others with the Christian's religious authority, the Word of God. This is necessary to do to prevent others from misleading and deceiving us into thinking something is true when, in fact, it is error or "make-believe", e.g. doctrines and commandments OF MEN (cannot find such teachings in the Bible) and not FROM GOD! We demonstrate our faith in God by our OBEDIENCE to His commandments. Therefore, we, as His people, honor, love, and respect His Word. Do you?

Esta congregaci�n de la Iglesia del Se�or, semejante a la Iglesia primitiva, pero distinta a muchas congregaciones de las Iglesias de Cristo contemporaneas, de coraz�n creemos en el mandamiento de Dios como ha sido revelado por el ap�stol Pedro en I Pedro 4:11, "Si alguno habla, hable CONFORME (énfasis de la ICOC) a las palabras DE DIOS (énfasis de ICOC)..." Por eso nosotros NO A�ADIMOS a la Palabra de Dios ni QUITAMOS de Su Palabra de acuerdo a las Sagradas Escrituras declaradas en Apocalipsis 22:18-19,
I Corintios 4:6, Proverbios 30:6 y otras semejante Escrituras. Haciendo esto, no podemos ser hallado mentirosos o predicando "un evangelio diferente". Vea G�latas 1:6-9. Esta es una de las muchas razones por qué esta congregaci�n se auto identifica como "Independiente" entre las Iglesias de Cristo. Para ver otras razones por qué esta congregaci�n del pueblo de Dios se llama "Independiente", por favor oprima aqu�. Si usted est� en desacuerdo con nuestras Creencias aqu� declaradas, le recomendamos en grande que usted abra su Biblia y haga como los de Berea hicieron en Hechos 17:11. Ellos "...recibieron LA PALABRA (de Dios- énfasis por ICOC) con toda solicitud (actitud mental correcta, o sea, con fe-ICOC), ESCUDRI�ANDO cada d�a las Escrituras para ver si esta cosas eran as�." Los de Berea COMPARABAN lo que escuchaban y le�an religiosamente de parte de otros con la autoridad religiosa del Cristiano, la Palabra de Dios. �Esto es necesario hacer para que otras personas no nos gu�en por otro camino equivocado o nos enga�en creyendo que algo es cierto cuando en realidad es error o mandamientos y doctrinas DE HOMBRES (que no se encuentran tales ense�anzas en la Biblia) y no DE DIOS!
Nosotros demonstramos nuestra fe en Dios mediante la OBEDIENCIA a Sus mandamientos. Por lo tanto, nosotros, como Su pueblo, honramos, amamos y respetamos Su Palabra. �Y usted?

"For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:" "And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."

"Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar."

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: "Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ." "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." "As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed."

What We Believe

What we believe (in accordance with the Word of God):
Lo que creemos (de acuerdo a la Palabra de Dios):


1. We believe in God

     a. God is the Creator (Gen. 1:1)
     b. There is ONLY ONE God (Eph. 4:6)
     c. God is Spirit, not flesh and blood like man (John 4:24). That is the reason
         we cannot see Him!
   d. God, the Father, has spoken through His Son, Jesus Christ (Mat. 17:5;
        John 1:1; Hebrews 2:1-2)
     e. God, the Father, sent Jesus Christ into this world (John 3:16)

1. Nosotros creemos en Dios

     a. Dios es el Creador (Génesis 1:1)
     b. S�lo hay UN DIOS (Efesios 4:6)
     c. Dios es Esp�ritu, no carne y hueso como el hombre (Juan 4:24). Esta es la raz�n
         por qué El no se ve.
     d. Dios, el Padre, ha hablado através de Su Hijo, Jesucristo (Mateo 17:5;
         Juan 1:1; Hebreos 2:1-2)
     e. Dios, el Padre, envi� a Jesucristo a este mundo (Juan 3:16)

2. We believe in Jesus as the Christ

     a. Jesus was with God, the Father, in the beginning (~Gen. 1:26~)
     b. Jesus was born of the virgin Mary (a miracle!) (~Mat. 1~)
     c. Jesus came to seek and save the lost (the mission of the Independent Church
         of Christ) (~Luke 19:10~)
     d. There is but ONE LORD (~Eph. 4:1-3~)
     e. Jesus died for the sins of man (~Rom. 5:8~)

3. We believe in the Holy Spirit

     a. There is ONLY ONE SPIRIT (~Ephesians 4:1-3~)
     b. The Holy Spirit was promised to the Apostles by Jesus Christ (John 16)
     c. The Holy Spirit came upon the Apostles to give THEM the
         power to perform miraculous works (Acts 2)
     d. The Apostles had the power to lay THEIR hands on CERTAIN others that
         they too might have miraculous powers (~Acts 6:8~)
     e. The Holy Spirit guided the Apostles and others in writing the New Testament
         (~2 Timothy 3:16-17~)
     f. The Gospel of Christ became the perfect law of liberty (~James 1:25~)
     g. All baptized believers (Christians) receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (~Acts 2:38~)

3. Nosotros creemos en el Esp�ritu Santo

     a. S�lo hay UN ESPIRITU SANTO (Efesios 4:1-3)
     b. El Esp�ritu Santo fue prometido a los Ap�stoles por Jesucristo (Juan 16)
     c. El Esp�ritu Santo cay� sobre los Ap�stoles para darles a ELLOS el poder de ejecutar milagros (Hechos 2)
     d. Los Ap�stoles ten�an el poder de imponer SUS manos sobre CIERTOS otros para que ellos también pudieran tener poderes milagrosos (Hechos 6:8)
     e. El Esp�ritu Santo guiaba a los Ap�stoles y a otros en escribir el Nuevo Testamento
(2 Timoteo 3:16-17)
     f. El Evangelio de Cristo vino a ser la ley perfecta de la libertad (Santiago 1:25)
     g. Todos los creyentes bautizados (Cristianos) reciben el don del Esp�ritu Santo
(Hechos 2:38)

4. We believe the Bible.

         a. The Bible is God's Word containing ALL truth, not some truth (~John 17:17~)
     b. The Bible was written that we might believe (~John 20:30-31~)
     c. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God, not by hearing the word of men (~Romans 10:17~)
     d. The Bible or the Word of God will stand forever (~Matthew 24:35~)
     e. There is no question that mankind (God's creation) will be judged by the Bible (~John 12:48~)

4. Creemos la Biblia.

     a. La Biblia es la Palabra de Dios que contiene TODA la verdad, no algunas verdades
(Juan 17:17)
     b. La Biblia fue escrita para que podamos creer (Juan 20:30-31)
     c. La fe viene por el oir la Palabra de Dios, no viene mediante el escuchar las palabras de hombres  (Romanos 10:17)
     d. La Biblia o la Palabra de Dios permanecer� para siempre (Mateo 24:35)
     e. No cabe duda que la humanidad (la creaci�n de Dios) ser� juzgada por la Biblia

5. We believe the New Testament is binding on mankind today.

     a. The Old Testament is the inspired Word of God (a thousand times yes!), but it is NOT binding on Christians today (~John 1:17~). The Old Testament was written for OUR learning (~Romans 15:4~)
     b. The Old Testament was fulfilled and NAILED to the cross of Christ (~Matthew 5:17-19~). As such, Christians are NOT under the old Law of Moses as many religionists teach
     c. The old Law of Moses was REMOVED so that the new Law of Grace might become binding  (~Hebrews 9:16-17~; ~Hebrews 10:9-10~)
     d. God speaks to mankind today through His Son, Jesus Christ (~Matthew 17:5~)
     e. Christians ARE under the blood of Christ (~Hebrews 10:4~; ~Matthew 26:28~)

5. Creemos que estamos bajo el Nuevo Testamento hoy.

     a. El Antiguo Testamento es la Palabra de Dios inspirada (�mil veces, s�!), pero los Cristianos NO estamos  bajo su poder hoy (Juan 1:17). El Antiguo Testamento se escribi� para NUESTRA ense�anza (Romanos 15:4)
     b. El Antiguo Testamento fue cumplido y CLAVADO en la cruz de Cristo (Mateo 5:17-19). Por lo tanto, los  Cristianos NO est�n bajo la vieja Ley de Moisés como muchos religiosos ense�an
     c. La vieja Ley Mos�ica fue REMOVIDA para que pudiéramos estar bajo la nueva Ley de la Gracia  (Hebreos 9:16-17; Hebreos 10:9-10)
     d. Dios habla a la humanidad hoy através de Su Hijo, Jesucristo (Mateo 17:5)
     e. Los Cristianos est�n bajo la sangre de Cristo (Hebreos 10:4; Mateo 26:28)

6. We believe in the Church of the Bible.

     a. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, promised to build HIS Church (~Matthew 16:18~)
     b. The Lord's Church was established on the day of Pentecost after the resurrection of Christ (Acts 2)
     c. The Lord Himself, not man, adds those who are saved to HIS Church (~Acts 2:47~)
     d. Christ died for HIS Church. He purchased the Church of the Bible with HIS own blood (~Acts 20:28~; ~ Ephesians 5:25~)
     e. Christ became the Savior of His Church. If He saved His Church, the saved are IN HIS CHURCH! (~Ephesians 5:23~)
     f. Christ is the HEAD of HIS Church (~Colossians 1:18~)
     g. God, the Father, recognizes ONLY ONE Church, the one built by His Son (~Ephesians 4:4-5~)
     h. The ONE TRUE CHURCH, the Church of the Bible, the Church Built by Christ, the Church where Jesus only is the Head of it, wears ONLY the NAME of Christ (~Romans 16:16~)

6. Creemos en la Iglesia de la Biblia.

     a. Jesucristo, el Hijo de Dios, prometi� edificar SU Iglesia (Mateo 16:18)
     b. La Iglesia del Se�or fue establecida en el d�a de Pentecostés después de la resurrecci�n de Cristo  (Hechos 2)
     c. El Se�or mismo, no el hombre, a�ade ésos que son salvo a SU Iglesia (Hechos 2:47)
     d. Cristo muri� por SU Iglesia. El compr� la Iglesia de la Biblia con SU propia sangre (Hechos 20:28;  Efesios 5:25)
     e. Cristo vino a ser el Salvador de SU Iglesia. Si El salv� a Su Iglesia, �los salvos est�n EN SU IGLESIA! (Efesios 5:23)
     f. Cristo es la CABEZA de SU Iglesia (Colosenses 1:18)
     g. Dios, el Padre, reconoce SOLAMENTE UNA Iglesia, ésa edificada por Su Hijo (Efesios 4:4-5)
     h. La UNICA y VERDADERA IGLESIA, la Iglesia de la Biblia, la Iglesia edificada por Cristo, la Iglesia en d�nde Jes�s solamente es la cabeza de ella, usa SOLAMENTE el NOMBRE de Cristo (Romanos 16:16)

7. We believe in the BIBLE PLAN OF SALVATION, not "salvation plans" of men.

     a. The Lord wants us to HEAR His Word (~Romans 10:17~)
     b. God wants us to have FAITH in Him (~John 8:24~; ~Hebrews 11:6~)
     c. After faith, REPENTANCE is required by God (~Acts 17:30~; ~Luke 13:3~)
     d. The next step is to CONFESS Jesus as the Son of God. Must do so PUBLICLY! (~Acts 8:36~; ~Matthew 10:32~)
     e. Then comes BAPTISM in water (not sprinkling or dipping, but immersion) (~Mark 16:16~; ~I Peter 3:21~).
         Now, the Lord Himself adds that soul to His Church (~Acts 2:47~)!
     f. The final step in God's Plan of Salvation of the soul is to REMAIN FAITHFUL TO HIM  UNTO DEATH (~Revelation 2:10~)

7. Creemos el Plan de Salvaci�n B�blico, no "planes de salvaci�n" de hombres.

     a.. El Se�or desea que nosotros podamos OIR Su Palabra (Romanos 10:17)
     b. Dios quiere que nosotros tengamos FE en El (Juan 8:24; Hebreos 11:6)
     c. Después de la fe, el ARREPENTIMIENTO es requerido de parte de Dios (Hechos 17:30; Lucas 13:3)
     d. El pr�ximo paso es CONFESAR a Jes�s como el Hijo de Dios. �Se necesita hacerlo PUBLICAMENTE! (Hechos 8:36; Mateo 10:32)
     e. Luego viene el BAUTISMO en agua (no rociando agua o aspiraci�n, sino inmersi�n) (Marcos 16:16; I Pedro 3:21). �Ahora el Se�or mismo a�ade a esa alma a Su Iglesia
(Hechos 2:47)!
     f. El paso final en el Plan de Dios para la Salvaci�n del alma es PERMANECER FIEL A EL HASTA LA MUERTE (Apocalipsis 2:10).

CONCLUSION: We believe ALL of these things and many other things based on God's Word, not the doctrines and commandments of men.

CONCLUSION: Nosotros creemos TODAS estas cosas y muchas otras cosas m�s basada en la Palabra de Dios, no en las doctrinas y mandamientos de hombres.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

"One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

"While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him."

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

"Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip." "For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;"

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
