Bro. Garcia was born in Puerto Rico.  As a child, he was raised a Catholic like most Hispanics, then later as a Lutheran.  Although he had some interests in spiritual matters, he was uneasy and knew something simply was not right religiously in the world.  He kept asking himself how could there be only one God and so many varied churches all with different doctrines, teachings, and beliefs contradicting one another and in competition with one another.  This couldn't be right, he said.  There had to be something wrong he kept telling himself.

During the Vietnam war, he was stationed with the U.S. Air Force in South Carolina.  One day he was riding on the highway and saw a sign which stated that a particular church only preached, believed, and followed what is in the Bible.  That got his attention and elevated his curiosity.  He visited that church which appeared in the billboard.  After much study, he came to the only logical conclusion as revealed in the Bible...that he had found the church the Bible mentions.  God does not approve nor does He condone religious division as it exists today.  He kept studying the Word of God diligently.  Finally, in 1987, Bro. Garcia and his wife were both baptized into Christ in the Lord's church, the church of the Bible, and became a member of the body of Christ, His church, the Church of Christ. Hallelujah!

In December of 1988, Bro. Garcia began preaching the Word of God and His truth in love and continues to this day.  He taught and baptized both of his parents into the Lord's church.  The Lord has led Bro. Garcia from congregation to congregation throughout the years in the United States and Caribbean.  Now, he's finally found his permanent home (while he is in this life) to worship God at the Independent Church of Christ in Oklahoma City.

There are several things that distinguishes Bro. Garcia from the rest.  They are as follows: (1) Christ is TRULY his life (Colossians 3:4); (2) He is NOT ASHAMED of the gospel of Christ for he knows it has the power of salvation to all who believe (Romans 1:16); (3) He has been converted and convinced (Matthew 10:32); (4) He knows in whom he has believed (2 Timothy 1:12); (5) He is a lover of TRUTH (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12); (6) He wholeheartedly believes in restoring New Testament Christianity (Acts 2:38-47); (7) He is faithful to Christ, mature in the faith, and apt to teach (2 Timothy 2:2); (8) He preaches the truth of God's Word in love (Ephesians 4:15); (9) He is a servant of Christ and does not preach to please men (Galatians 1:10); (10) He does not add or take from God's Word for he knows the eternal consequences by doing so
(~I Corinthians 4:6~; Revelation 22:18-19); (11) He speaks where the Bible speaks and is silent where the Bible is silent (~I Peter 4:11~); (12) He is a college graduate from Bayamon Central University, a Catholic university, in Puerto Rico; and (13) Being bilingual, his sermons are preached both in Spanish and English so all can be edified and encouraged.  As if this isn't enough, Bro. Garcia is always ready to serve others rather than being served.  He treats others with respect, dignity, and courtesy.  However, he is uncompromising when it comes to the truth of God's Word (~I Timothy 1:3~; Ephesians 4:14).  Oh, one more thing.  He preaches completely free.  He does not believe in becoming a financial burden to the Church or any particular congregation.  That's why he works to support himself and his family.  Whenever he is invited to preach, he always pays his way.  The Lord always provides.

Now you know something about this Minister for the Lord's church and the Independent Church of Christ congregation.

"When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory."
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."
"Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven."
"For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day."
"And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved." "And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:" "That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness."
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." "For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call." "And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation." Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. "And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers." And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. "And all that believed were together, and had all things common;" "And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need." "And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart," "Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved."
"And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also."
"But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:"
"For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ."
"For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:" "And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."
"That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;"
