La Feria church of Christ Bulletin

Greetings from your preacher,

Today, we will have our bilingual Bible study. The men met in the auditorium and the women will meet in the fellowship room, as we did last month. And, the children will have their class with sister Monica in the classroom.

Also, we will be handing out bible material on the church this Saturday, at the Fiesta de La Feria. We will meet at the church building at 10 o'clock. We will start with coffee and pastries, and then we will go to the festival for about two hours.

While the men are handing out information at the festival, the women will have their breakfast meeting at our house starting at 9:30 a.m. Diana will provide the breakfast sandwiches, fruit, orange juice and coffee.

As well, the Bridge Avenue church of Christ has invited couples from our congregation to a dinner and lesson on marriage, Saturday night, February 14th at 6:30.

This Sunday will be our bilingual service, with Bible study beginning at 10 a.m. and worship beginning at 10:45 a.m. The sermon will be THE CHURCH IS TO WORK. Our fellowship meal will be immediately following worship.

Your preacher,

Roger

PRAISEWORTHY KIDS

This past Sunday in the children's morning Bible study, Araiza, Leia, Zoe, Jillian and Jayden practiced the teaching song, Be Careful Little Eyes What You See. They read about King David and how he said he wanted join his son in Paradise. Jillian read (2 Sam. 12:22) and Leia read (2 Sam. 12:23) And, they considered that while all the souls of little children are safely in God's care, because they are innocent; how even little children must choose to do what Jesus has commanded to be a Christian child.

Please continue to pray for the children, that they might grow up to be strong Christian men and women.

AN ARTICLE FROM A PREACHER: WHAT CAUSES CHURCH GROWTH?

Jay Launius

There has been much time and energy spent on researching the subject of church growth. Researchers use surveys, interviews, and statistics in an attempt to determine which growth methods are successful and why some congregations seem to thrive, while others fade away. Programs are implemented with focus on evangelism, fellowship, and local benevolence, yet again with mixed results.

Techniques applied in one geographic area show good results while the same methods prove fruitless in others. Some experts package and sell their methods as a guaranteed way to grow congregations but in reality, there are no guarantees. So why is church growth such a difficult task to achieve?

What's the right method, technique, or program to use? As we consider these things, could it be that we're looking in the wrong place for the answers? Is it possible we have had the answers right in front of us all along?

Has God given us the keys to successful, thriving, and growing congregations of His church? Here's what the bible says:

Go Into ALL the World, Preach the Gospel to EVERY Person (Mark 16:15)

Have a Mustard Seed Faith and Nothing Will be Impossible (Luke 17:6)

Always Reach Forward to Things Ahead (Philippians 3:13)

Involve Every Member in the Work (Romans 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12:12-31)

Reach Out to the Children (Matthew 19:14; Mark 9:37; 10:14)

Reach Out to the Poor (Matthew 5:42)

Encourage Every Part (Person) to do Their Share (Ephesians 4:16)

Gently Restore the Fallen (Galatians 6:1)

Love God, Love Your Neighbor, Love Each Other (Mark 12:29-31; Romans 12:10)

Be Good Examples to Those Outside the Church (Colossians 4:5)

We Can Do ALL Things, Being Strengthened by Christ (Philippians 4:13)

(Efesios 4:16)

Restaura suavemente a los caidos. (Galatas 6:1)

Ama a Dios, ama a tu projimo, amate unos a otros. (Marcos 12:29-31; Romanos 12:10)

(Filipenses 4:13)

Our congregational business meeting will be 3/6/2022,
following our 10:30am morning service that Sunday. English and Spanish Congregations
are both invited to attend this congregational meeting. More>>

OUR VISITORS ARE OUR HONORED GUESTS!

If you worship with us, this is what you may expect to see following the New Testament example we can read about in the Bible:

We pray to Our Father through the name of Jesus Christ.

We open up the Bible and read it.

A gospel sermon is preached.

We sing from the heart without instruments.

We remember the Lord Jesus Christ's death every first day of the week with the Lord's supper.

Those who have laid funds by in store for the purpose of giving to the work of the church make contributions.

If you are a visitor and are interested in knowing more about the events of the church of Christ in La Feria, please call preacher Roger Goodwin at (956) 277-0434.

"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (Matt. 28:18-20)
