Lebanon church of Christ

My mother used to remind me that I was born on the hottest day of the year. July has that reputation for being hot. When the temperature goes up, it reminds me that I do not want to go to hell. Hell is going to be hot (Matthew 13:42, 50; 25:41; Mark 9:43; Jude 7). Not only will there be fire, but there will be pain (weeping and gnashing of teeth) and total darkness (Matthew 8:12; 22:13; 25:30). The worst thing about hell will be the separation from God (Revelation 21:22-27). Someone might say “Why would a loving God send someone to hell?” If you or I go there, it will be our choice. God has done what He can (besides taking away our free will) to get us to go to heaven by sending His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross. Apart from Jesus’ sacrifice, we can do nothing to save ourselves from sin. Like the song says, “He paid a debt He did not owe, I owed a debt I could not pay. Christ Jesus paid the debt that I could never pay.” His love for you and me held Him there. Come learn more about this Suffering Servant.
