The Peace That Passes All Understanding

The Peace That Passes All Understanding

Dan C. Bailey

"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).

The Peace of the Sunset

The peace of the sunset

Lies in the soul,

Of the one cleansed by Jesus,

Washed and made whole.

Beyond understanding

As vast as the seas;

A peace that will comfort,

A peace that will free.

For Jesus our Savior

Came down from above,

To give us the gift of

The Father's great love.

So when you lie down

For your rest from the day,

May the peace of the sunset

Be your comfort and stay!

A hymn that we sing expresses the eternal peace that can be ours after death.

Beyond The Sunset

Beyond the sunset, O blissful morning

When with our Saviour heaven is begun

Earth's toiling ended, O glorious dawning

Beyond the sunset when day is done.

Beyond the sunset, no clouds will gather

No storms will threaten, no fears annoy

O day of gladness, O day unending

 Beyond the sunset eternal joy.

Beyond the sunset, a hand will guide me

To God the Father whom I adore

His glorious presence, His words of welcome

Will be my portion on that fair shore.

Beyond the sunset, O glad reunion

With our dear loved ones who've gone before

In that fair homeland we'll know no parting

 Beyond the sunset forever more...

                                                                Virgil P. Brock

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world" (John 16:33).
