The church of Christ now meeting at 1940 South Highway Five, Lebanon, Missouri, had its beginning in September, 1962. The church first met in the City Hall (the old USO building) and then the Community Building. It's first members were Mr. and Mrs. Norvin Scott, Mr. and Mrs. Scott Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Striegel, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Traw, Mr. Noble Hudson and Miss Ethel Scott. Noble Hudson served as treasurer.
With the help of sister congregations in Springfield, West Plains, and other places in Missouri, a gospel meeting was conducted with Ordus Copeland of Arkansas, doing the preaching and Stanley Traw leading the singing.
In January, 1963, Arthur Hicks began his work with the church as the full-time preacher. A building was purchased at Sixth and Washington Streets. After extensive remodeling the church began meeting there in 1963. The church began meeting at it's present location on Sunday, May 11, 1969. Additional facilities, including a fellowship hall, restrooms and offices, were constructed in 1989.
Preachers who have worked full-time with the church have included: Arthur Hicks, W.J. Stanley, Travis Turman, Wayne Deffenbaugh, Elvis Denney, Dan Bennett, Jack Simons,Stephen D. Rook, Matt McBrayer and Joshua Ortiz.
Elders who have overseen the church include: Marvin Bailey, Stanley Bailey, Wally Buttram, Max Goodart, Stanley Traw, Jerry Freeze, Warren Pemberton, Tom Ellingsworth, Don Lewis, Vic Sicard and Kyle Walker.
