Purpose

We believe the Bible is, as it claims to be, the inspired word of God and that it is all-sufficient as our guide to becoming and being a Christian so that heaven will be our eternal home (Second Timothy 3:16-17; Second Peter 1:3).
We believe the God of the Bible is one God in three Persons: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).
We believe Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ, the Son of God, born of the virgin Mary in fulfillment of messianic Old Testament prophecy (Matthew 16:13-19).
We believe the theme of the Bible is the glorification of God by the salvation of humankind through faith in his Son, Jesus Christ (John 3:16).
We believe  salvation is by grace (undeserved kindness) through faith (Ephesians 2:8).  Faith that saves is faith that obeys (James 2:14-26; Hebrews 5:9) in repentance (Acts 17:30), confession (Romans 10:9-10), and baptism into Christ for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3,4).
We believe the church of Christ is non-denominational and undenominational and consists of all men and women everywhere who, in sincere faith, have obeyed the gospel of Christ (Acts 2:37-47; Romans 1:16-17; Ephesians 1:22-23; 4:4; 5:23).
As the church of Christ our purpose is to glorify God in the name of Christ through worship, evangelism, and service.  Reading the second chapter of the New Testament book of Acts we are impressed that the apostle Peter urged the people of his day to "Save yourselves from this untoward generation" (Acts 2:40).  The word "untoward" means "crooked" or "corrupt."  One has but to open his eyes and ears to observe our generation is corrupt as well.
Indeed, as Christ himself said, most are traveling the broad way that leads to destruction (Matthew 7:13).  Thus our purpose is to urge men and women today to "save yourselves."  In so doing we aim to preach the same message as the apostle Peter.  In Acts 2, Peter preached Christ--his miracles, death, resurrection, ascension, lordship and kingly reign (vs. 21-36).  When the people heard Peter's message they were pricked (cut) in their hearts and asked, "What must we do?" (v.37).  Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized for the remission (forgiveness) of sins" (v.38).
This is our purpose--to hold up the Christ and call men and women to salvation by him to the glory of God.  We invite you to join us in this effort.
