Science Proves God Wrote The Bible

It may seem ironic to some that we would even write such a statement as the title above. However, it is a fact that God inspired men who wrote the Bible as much as fifteen hundred (1,500) years before Christ with information that modern science has only confirmed in recent years! If as we believe, that God created all things, it is reasonable that He also understands all of science not only that which we are just learning, but all that we will learn. Many are so biased against the bare concept of God, that they would not consider any explanation that would confirm or even build upon the fact that God is, and that He is concerned about man. Let us note a few of the scientific facts shown from the Bible:

Laws in the Old Testament concerning male circumcision illustrates facts only God could know about the coagulation of the blood of infants. In Genesis 17:10-14 God gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision. He instructed Abraham to do this on the eighth day of the life of the infant. Why the eighth day? Medical science determined during the 20thcentury that prothrombin, an element in the blood that causes it to clot readily is very low a few hours after birth, but the body of the infant starts to replenish it quickly. We do know today that on the eighth day of an infant's life it is at the highest level it will normally ever be. Thus, God directed Abraham to cut away the male foreskin on the best day it is possible for the blood to readily clot. Male circumcision also benefits the male in that circumcised males rarely get urinary tract infections. Not only that but in societies where males are circumcised, female cervical cancer is much rarer as many studies have shown conclusively. How could Abraham know this between 1,900 and 2,000 years BEFORE Christ? He could not, but God did!

Rules regarding germs and quarantine were given in the Law of Moses (1,400 B.C.). Numerous diseases including leprosy as well as those who handled dead bodies prevented the spread of infectious diseases. Those suspected of infection or actually infected were to be separated from others and to "...dwell alone; without the camp..." (Leviticus 13:46). In Leviticus 13:45 the leper was to cover his "upper lip" as we would cover a cough or sneeze, and when near people cry "leper, leper" so they could keep clear of him. The little books, "None of these Diseases" by S.I. McMillen, M.D. and "Medical Wisdom from The Bible" by Russel J. Thomsen, M.D. list many other examples of the wisdom of God revealed as much as 3,800 years ago!

Although we recognize that the Bible is not a textbook on science, there are many other facts revealed such as the roundness of the earth (Proverbs 8:27; Isaiah 40:22) written more than 2,000 years or more before Copernicus upset the 16th century church with his heliocentric views of the earth and universe. The only reasonable explanation for the various snippets of revelations found throughout the Bible is that the Bible itself came from a God who created all things and is benevolent toward the world in that He sent Jesus to redeem lost mankind (John 3:16-17), and gave us the Bible. Although the Bible was written by men, it is from God. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works" (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
