I remember this because my duaghter (Jennifer) is now just over 16 years old. My wife (Deann) and I also have a 11 year old son (Billy York jr.). Dad is now 77 years old, but as active as ever. He is not on the road these days. He is an elder in Cuero, Tx. and on the board with the christian school in Victoria, Tx. as well as taking care of alot of our office work. I am still building churches for the brethern 22 years now. I was just wandering if there is still any familliar faces or names around there? | Comments: | Hello. I am a member of the Huntingburg, Indiana Church of Christ. My mom and dad are also members. I am writing you to ask you to please keep my dad, Charlie McCune in your prayers. He has Glioblastoma Multiforme, the most aggressive type of brain cancer. I am writing to ask you to please keep my dad in your prayers. He has a positive attitude and says he is going to beat this with God's help. I think he will! I want to help my dad and I know the best way to help him is to ask people to pray for him. He is being treated at Duke University Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center in Durham, North Carolina. His local oncologist works under Dad's doctors at Duke and gives him his treatment locally. Dad is taking CPT-11/Avastin and it is not approved for GBM brain tumors yet. However the treatment is working!! The last 3 MRIs have shown shrinkage!Thank God! Dad will get a MRI every six weeks and Mom sends it to Duke. They call us back and tell us the news. If the tumor is still shrinking then Dad will continue the treatment. Then after six more weeks Dad goes to Duke for a MRI and a clinic visit with the doctor. I am asking you to pray for my dad's tumor to shrink away and not have any side effects from his treatment that might cause the treatment to stop! He also can not walk now, but he is taking occupational and physical therapy at home to walk again soon. His doctor at Duke thinks Dad will walk again with a lot of hard work. So if you could please pray for my Dad to have the strength to work hard in therapy and to walk again soon! I really appreciate your help. Dad's 12th treatment was Tuesday 6/12/07. Now it is almost time for his 6 week MRI. We will leave on Sunday 6/24 to go to Duke University. Dad will get his MRI on Tuesday morning 8:00 am then we will meet with hs doctor at noon. We will find out the results then. My mom, Kathy McCune has been taking care of my dad. If you could please pray for her to keep her healthy and strong.
