Welcome to the
Winnetka Avenue Church of Christ

W. Bruce Evans, Minister

The local minister, W. Bruce Evans began working with the Winnetka congregation in 2006.  Previously, he had been working with Airport Church of Christ in Columbia, South Carolina.  He has preached for congregations of the Lord's people in Yakima, Washington; North Hills, California; Las Vegas, Nevada as well as other congregations in California,Oregon and New Mexico. He began preaching in 1978.  Over the years he has been called upon to speak at lectureships and conduct Gospel Meetings for various congregations across the nation.  He has written articles for several periodicals, and fields requests constantly to write on specific issues of concern.

Brother Evans holds a degree in Christian Counseling Psychology and has in the past operated his own counseling practice while living in the state of Washington. At times, over the years  he has coupled his work as a minister with working as a college instructor. He has volunteered his time and energy in providing pro bono counseling to those in need.  While living in South Carolina he provided counseling for those people from New Oreleans who had been relocated there as a result of Hurricane Katrina.  In like fashion he worked with Lexington Medical Center.  In his work as a minister he is often called upon to give guidance and direction, which he is more than happy to provide.  As a nouthetic counselor, he places a premium on individuals working to align their lives with the revealed Word of God.

Linda Evans is Bruce's wife, and a valuable asset to all that he does.  They have been married for over 35 years.  Linda is an accomplished artist, and a skilled teacher.  She is the epitome of just what a christian woman should be.  Sister Evans has the unique ability to listen carefully to all who come to her, and respond with the utmost of understanding., care and concern. Together they embrace the work set before them gladly, doing what they can to be of service to any and all who make such a request.  Always remembering that they are but servants to the God of Heaven.
