Welcome to the
Winnetka Avenue Church of Christ

Other Teachers

We have been blessed at the Winnetka congregation to have a number of members who are extremely capable Bible teachers.  Several of which are currently or have been previously employed as educators.

Terri DeBruler has brought her love and joy for the bible to our youngest students. They look forward to her class every Sunday. Mary Lee brings with her decades of Bible knowledge and a willingness to share that with her students. Tracy Walker has been teaching the youngest students since 1992 and has a genuine interest in the welfare of each one of the students she teaches. Joy Borchers has been teaching children's classes for well over 50 years and brings a wealth of knowledge to whatever age she teaches. She has a treasure trove of materials to draw on as she presents the Word of God.  Joy  has been called upon to direct special women's classes over the years.  Linda Evans has taught Bible classes for over 30 years.  She has taught preschool children as well as women's Bible classes. In her teaching she uses life lessons to tie the Scriptures into the life of her students. She has taught children from Washington to South Carolina. Janice Hantsbarger has been teaching at Winnetka since 1996.  In her classes she utilizes a number of different styles that seeks to draw the student into wanting to discover the topic at hand. Deloris Brown brings a healthy dose of excitement to the classes that she teaches.  Her style fits her unique personality.  Each one of these teachers have a love and knowledge of the Truth that is found in the pages of the Scriptures.

Apart from our minister, we have several men who are more than capable of expounding on the Word of God.  Phil Chapman is confident and up to the challenge to lead our high schoolers further in the word. He is attentive to their questions and brings a vast background of life experiences and Bible knowledge that reaches out to his students.  Dan Walker has been involved in teaching for over 30 years, both in a public as well as private setting.  He has a unique ability that allows him to relate to the individual student.  Mike Odorizzi has been involved in teaching the Word of God for over 30 years.  He has an easy style that works well in the classroom as well as in the pulpit.  Jacob Machengete has been willing to go other congregations when a need presents itself. They also have stepped up at Winnetka to lead the congregation in bible study's, singing and services. All of these men are easily approachable, and encourage each student to communicate any special need that there may be.  It should be noted that all of these men have a rapt knowledge of God's Word, and understand how powerful it truly is.

A curriculum is in place at the Winnetka church of Christ that puts the Bible at the center of all our studies.  We recognize that we have been blessed with exceptional teachers, and want to do all that we can to address the needs of those who come with a desire to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
