Banner Elk church of Christ
"The churches of Christ salute you" (Romans 16:16).
"The churches of Christ salute you" (Romans 16:16).
The Banner Elk congregation has been envolved in India mission work since 1990. The Lord has blessed this work in a mighty way. Don Iverson, a self-supported member at Banner Elk, makes regular trips into India, often accompanied by his wife, Cathy. India Missions is a work of the Banner Elk church of Christ, but is overseen by the elders at the Main Street church of Christ in Crossville, Tennessee.
Through the Banner Elk congregation, more than twenty active schools of preaching are training evangelists in Tamil Nadu, the southern part of India. These gospel preachers are trained to support themselves as they go forth to teach the gospel to the lost of India. In 2015, these students, graduates and teachers taught and baptized more than 6,000 souls.

During the tsunami of 2004, a great opportunity was afforded to the churches in India. American brethren gave funds and relief, along with the gospel, was provided to more than 25,000 families. More than 3,000 souls were baptized and 71 new congregations were established.
