Greetings from your preacher,
I know we were all disappointed last week, with the cancellation of our gospel meeting. After much planning and anticipation, it was hard to believe that we were not going to be able to have it at this time because of security threats against government officials. But, I believe it is a reminder of the many issues influenced by followers of Satan in this world. However, we know God will always prevail. So it will be with us having a gospel meeting this year.
Brother DeBerry is reaching out to some of the gospel preachers who, like himself, are regular speakers at gospel lectureships around the country. However, he is trying to find one of them who lives in Texas, so there will not be any problems with air travel. I will bring you up to date, as soon as we have someone available. Then, we can decide on a good time to schedule this.

PRAISEWORTHY KIDS
This past Sunday in the morning Bible study for children, Zoe, Leia, Benny, Brianna and Vicky studied the scriptures, -Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.- Ephesians 4:26-27. They discussed how to handle anger, how to control it, how long we should be mad and who can make us mad and completed a worksheet.
Please continue to pray for the children, that they might grow up to be strong Christian men and women.
AN ARTICLE FROM A PREACHER: JESUS SAVES! JESUS SAVES!

In 1882, Priscilla J. Owens penned these opening words of a familiar hymn: -We have heard the joyful sound: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!- What could be a more -joyful sound- than that? In fact, if you were looking for a simple two-word summary of the whole Bible, you could not find one better than -Jesus saves!- Let us think about this exciting subject!
Jesus saves by the grace of God! The Scripture plainly teaches -For by grace have you been saved...- (Eph. 2:8) Salvation is not something that we deserve or can earn— it is -the gift of [the grace of] God.- What a joyful sound: Jesus saves!
Jesus saves by His own blood! -Through His blood- we can have -the forgiveness of sins...- (Eph. 1:7); for -without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.- (Heb. 9:22). What a joyful sound: Jesus saves!
Jesus saves those who obey Him! We must be -doers of the word- (Jas. 1:22), who do -the will- of the Father and -obey- Christ, that we might -enter- into -eternal salvation- (Matt. 7:21; Heb. 5:9). What a joyful sound: Jesus saves!
Jesus saves those who believe in Him! We must -believe...that God raised Him from the dead- (Rom. 10:9) and that He is -the Son of God- (John 20:31), in order to be saved from our sins (John 8:24). What a joyful sound: Jesus saves!
Jesus saves those who repent of their sins! Sin violates God's will (1 John 3:4) and separates us from God (Isa. 59:2). One must turn from those sins in order to have them blotted out (Acts 2:38; 3:19). What a joyful sound: Jesus saves!
Jesus saves those who confess their faith in Him! We can only be -saved- if we will, -before men- (Matt. 10:32), -confess with [our] mouth the Lord Jesus- (Rom. 10:9). What a joyful sound: Jesus saves!
Jesus saves those who are immersed into Him! Just as essential as all of the previous acts of obedience, -baptism now saves us- (1 Pet. 3:21). Only then will the blood of Jesus -wash away your sins- (Acts 22:16), when we -believe- (Mark 16:16), -repent- and are -baptized for the forgiveness of sins- (Acts 2:38). What a joyful sound: Jesus saves!
Jesus saves those who serve Him faithfully! Once Jesus cleanses us of our past, we are -enlisted- by Him as -a soldier of Jesus Christ-, and it is our responsibility to -please- Him (2 Tim. 2:3-4). That involves a lifetime of -faithful- living (Rev. 2:10) and active service in His church (1 Cor. 15:58; Matt. 25:23). What a joyful sound: Jesus saves!
The last line of that beloved hymn shouts, -This our song of victory: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!- God -gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ- (1 Cor. 15:57). Only those who comply with His will shall have eternal salvation!

Se que todos estabamos decepcionados la semana pasada, con la cancelacion de nuestra reunion del evangelio. Despues de mucha planificacion y anticipacion, era dificil creer que no ibamos a poder tenerlo en este momento debido a las amenazas de seguridad contra los funcionarios del gobierno. Pero creo que es un recordatorio de los muchos problemas influenciados por los seguidores de Satanas en este mundo. Sin embargo, sabemos que Dios siempre prevalecerá. Así que será con nosotros tener una reunion del evangelio este ano.

NINOS DIGNOS DE ELOGIOS
El domingo pasado, en el estudio biblico de la manana para ninos, Zoe, Leia, Benny, Brianna y Vicky estudiaron las escrituras, -Esten enojados, y no penen: no dejen que el sol se ponga sobre su ira: Tampoco den lugar al diablo. - Efesios 4:26-27. Discutieron como manejar la ira, como controlarla, cuanto tiempo deberiamos estar enojados y quien puede hacernos enojar y completaron una hoja de trabajo.
Por favor, continuen orando por los ninos, para que puedan crecer y convertirse en hombres y mujeres cristianos fuertes en su fe.

De hecho, si estuvieras buscando un simple resumen de dos palabras de toda la Biblia, no podrias encontrar uno mejor que -Jesus salva!- Pensemos en este emocionante tema!
Jesus salva por la gracia de Dios! La Escritura ensena claramente -Porque por gracia has sido salvado...- (Ef. 2:8) La salvacion no es algo que merecemos o podamos ganar, es el regalo de [la gracia de] Dios. Que sonido tan alegre: Jesus salva!
Jesus salva con Su propia sangre! -A traves de Su sangre- podemos tener -el perdon de los pecados...- (Ef. 1:7); porque -sin derramamiento de sangre no hay perdon.- (Heb. 9:22). Que sonido tan alegre: Jesus salva!
Jesus salva a aquellos que le obedecen! Debemos ser -hecedores de la palabra- (Jas. 1:22), que hacen -la voluntad- del Padre y -obedecen- a Cristo, para que podamos -entrar- en -la salvacion eterna- (Mat. 7:21; Heb. 5:9). Que sonido tan alegre: Jesus salva!
Jesus salva a aquellos que creen en El! Debemos -creer... que Dios lo resucito de entre los muertos- (Rom. 10:9) y que El es -el Hijo de Dios- (Juan 20:31), para ser salvo de nuestros pecados (Juan 8:24). Que sonido tan alegre: Jesus salva!
Jesus salva a aquellos que se arrepienten de sus pecados! El pecado viola la voluntad de Dios (1 Juan 3:4) y nos separa de Dios (Isa. 59:2). Uno debe alejarse de esos pecados para que sean borrados (Hechos 2:38; 3:19). Que sonido tan alegre: Jesús salva!
Jesus salva a aquellos que confiesan su fe en El! Solo podemos ser -salvados- si queremos, -ante los hombres- (Mateo 10:32), -confesar con [nuestra] boca el Senor Jesus- (Rom. 10:9). Que sonido tan alegre: Jesús salva!
Jesus salva a aquellos que estan inmersos en El! Tan esencial como todos los actos anteriores de obediencia, -el bautismo ahora nos salva- (1 Pet. 3:21). Solo entonces la sangre de Jesus lavara tus pecados (Hechos 22:16), cuando -creemos- (Marcos 16:16), -nos repontamos- y seamos - bautizados para el perdon de los pecados- (Hechos 2:38). Que sonido tan alegre: Jesus salva!
Jesus salva a aquellos que le sirven fielmente! Una vez que Jesus nos limpia de nuestro pasado, somos -alistados- por El como -un soldado de Jesucristo-, y es nuestra responsabilidad -agradarlo- (2 Tim. 2:3-4). Eso implica una vida de vida -fiel- (Rev. 2:10) y servicio activo en Su iglesia (1 Cor. 15:58; Mateo. 25:23). Que sonido tan alegre: Jesus salva!
La ultima linea de ese amado himno grita: -Esta es nuestra cancion de victoria: Jesus salva! Jesus salva! - Dios - nos da la victoria a traves de nuestro Senor Jesucristo - (1 Cor. 15:57). Solo aquellos que cumplan con Su voluntad tendran salvacion eterna!
