Middle TN School of Preaching and Biblical Studies

Beginning with the 2021 Summer Session, the Murfreesboro location of the Middle TN School of Preaching and Biblical Studies (formerly the Walter Hill Church of Christ) began meeting at a new location - the Mars Hill Church of Christ in Christiana. We are excited to be a part of this great work and to encourage our members, as well as those in our community, to dig deeper in studying God's Word! We would love for you to join us for these FREE classes as we meet together on Tuesday evenings for a period of fellowship and study.


About Us

The Middle TN School of Preaching (MTSOP) began meeting at the College Grove Church of Christ in June, 2002. Michael A. Stewart was the school's first director.



Our Director

Milton Stephens became the director in 2015. He serves as the preacher for the Lynnville Church of Christ and is a graduate of the Nashville School of Preaching and Biblical Studies.  Bro. Milton has been on the faculty of our school for many years and continues to do a great job as a teacher, as well as the school's director.



Our Classes

Classes are offered on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights at various Middle TN locations. Credits are offered for completion of each class. To graduate from the school, 36 credits are required. Up to 20 credits can be transferred from other Biblical institutions, at the director's approval.


Our teachers are made up of faithful preachers and teachers, members of the church of Christ. They volunteer their time and effort to help others grow in their knowledge of God's word. We appreciate their dedication to the truth.



Our Purpose

The Middle Tennessee School of Preaching and Biblical Studies exists for the purpose of training sound gospel preachers to work with churches of Christ in carrying the good news of Jesus Christ to the world (Matthew 28:18-20).

We also encourage the enrollment of men and women who simply desire to grow in knowledge of God's word and in usefulness in service in the Kingdom.



Our Program

  • There is no tuition.
  • You can enroll the first night you attend.
  • You can enroll for classes at any of our locations.
  • No prior education is required.
  • Classes are open to both men and women, unless otherwise noted.
  • You plan your schedule.
  • All classes are evening classes.
  • All you need is the Bible and a desire to study God's word.
